The 2024 retreat at NEWMAN

Camp Newman – May 10-12, 2024

Our Congregational retreat is coming up soon, and this year, we’re coming together to create a joyful Shabbat in the green hills of Sonoma County. It’s a special chance to connect with old friends, and meet new folks in a beautiful setting enjoying relaxing time with lots to do…or not do!

Reserve your space now – the deadline for registration is Friday, April 26th! This is a real deadline, as we need time to make housing assignments and Newman needs time to order food, etc. NOTE: All rooms in the motel and lodge are booked as of today, April 11.

Hello from one of the shiny new firepits at Camp Newman! These run on gas and won’t cause real fires.

We are (part of) the retreat committee – we visited in January to make sure everything looks good for us! (It does!)

The Program
This year, we’ll learn from each other! The 2024 retreat committee will reach out to everyone once they register to build the community-led program including yoga, hiking, prayer, text study, and arts + crafts, plus a ropes course, swimming and kids’ activities.

The Site
Camp Newman has been entirely rebuilt since the Santa Rosa fires, and now features
– beautiful housing options: cabins and brand new new hotel-style housing
– brand new fire pits
– stunning program rooms with views
– highly accessible layout
– kosher, nut free facility

Housing
We chose Camp Newman in response to feedback from the congregation.  It offers a wide variety of housing options – from the very rustic to the extra-luxe!

Accommodations throughout the camp provide varying degrees of accessibility, so please be specific with your particular needs. A map of the camp is below this chart. The prices are all-inclusive, covering meals, program and accommodations. Some room types include linens, read the descriptions for more detail. These prices are for Netivot Shalom members – per person, non-members are warmly welcomed and there is a non-member surcharge on the registration page.
